EP-88 This is a rare undiscovered recording by Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys on March 2, 1958. It was recorded during a KVOO On-Air Radio Broadcast from the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob and the Boys are talking with the radio announcer and performing live on stage. The song they are performing in this video is “Gonna Find Me a Bluebird”.
Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys performed the recordings by other musicians and performers at their broadcasts and dances, and here is a good example. This is a Marvin Rainwater hit that first came out in January 1957. It was still popular when the band played it on this rare KVOO radio broadcast in Tulsa, Oklahoma when it was first heard on March 2, 1958. Evelyn Lewis, a guest artist, does the singing chores.
What you are about to hear is a rare recording of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys performing “Gonna Find Me a Bluebird” live on stage during the KVOO On-Air Radio Broadcast at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 2, 1958.
I have digitally remastered the original recording for clarity and stereo effect.
