Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys Rare 1958 Radio Broadcast Part 30

YouTube player

EP-30 This is a rare undiscovered recording by Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys on January 7, 1958. It was recorded during a KVOO On-Air Radio Broadcast from the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob and the Boys are talking with the radio announcer and performing live on stage. The song they are performing in this video is “Keeper of My Heart”.

This is one of the most frequently played numbers designed for slow dances by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. It was first recorded with Tommy Duncan on the vocal on November 12, 1947 and was the third to the last recording he made with the band during his 1932 to 1948 tenure with Wills.

During this radio broadcast Glynn Duncan, Tommy’s brother, is doing the vocals.

What you are about to hear is a rare recording of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys performing “Keeper of My Heart” live on stage during the KVOO On-Air Radio Broadcast at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 7, 1958.

I have digitally remastered the original recording for clarity and stereo effect.
