EP-35 This is a rare undiscovered recording by Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys on January 24, 1958. It was recorded during a KVOO On-Air Radio Broadcast from the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob and the Boys are talking with the radio announcer and performing live on stage. The song they are performing in this video is “Carroll County Blues”.
Johnnie Lee Wills was host on this day. This broadcast featured an old fiddle tune from the fiddle and guitar duet, Narmour and Smith who first recorded it on March 11, 1929. The tune definitely has the original blues feeling, but the Texas Playboys jazz it up a bit.
